​​Bernardo M Munoz is the founder of Green Systems Engineering, Inc. Mr Munoz has been in the practice of electrical engineering for the past 40 years. Mr. Munoz’s involvement in such LEED projects for the LACCD & various projects throughout the country have made him well known throughout the industry. Bernardo works closely with the USGBS LEED Green Building rating system. His Green Building & Renewable Engineering experience include strategy analysis, project management, technical design support & LEED Certification for various projects across the country.

2007- 2010

Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Manager. My responsibilities included the design and  project management, Construction Admiinistration on various Healthcare projects (Providence Holy Cross & Kaiser Hospital in Bellflower, CA.) OSHPD 1 & 3, LACCD School Projects eg: (Pierce College, WLAC, ECC, LASWC, LACC, & LAVC). The design process included lighting, Fire Alarm, Power, Short Circuit Analysis, writing & editing of specifications CSI format & (6) digit for the colleges. Design & Distribution of  5KV & 15 KV Electrical infrastructure systems for various college campuses. I was also involved in Green Energy, Green Building, LEED AP & Commissioning (CxA) practices, applications  & documentation  for  the above  mentioned  facilities.

Electrical Engineer on various retail projects. Performed Power and Lighting design along with Title 24 calculations for both interior and exterior lighting applications.


Dalan Engineering Inc.                                

2004- 2005

Director of Healthcare and Hospital Division. Was involved in the design and the complete electrical engineering package for Huntington Beach & West Anaheim Medical Centers expansion projects. Projects included upgrades to their emergency generator systems and the overall upgrade to the main electrical system & distribution at West Anaheim Medical Center. Other upgrades included the Nurse call & Fire Alarm Systems.

2000- 2004

Senior Electrical Engineer and Project Manager for various healthcare projects for Mission Viejo Hospital in Mission Viejo, Ca. Peer Review & Construction Administration for a 250,000 Sq. Ft. Addition to the St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, Ca. Converted a 5th floor Med. Surge facility to a jail ward per OSHPD & CDC requirements.


Ove Arup & Partners                                   


Senior Electrical Engineer & Lead Engineer for the Orange County Fire Authority Training Facilities. This was a 240,000 sq. ft. building. Construction cost was estimated at $50,000,000 The Seattle Public Library (12) floors 3,000 amp, board (480Y/277V. 3PH., 4W.) System. 4,000 amp busway for supplying the HVAC equipment. 800 KW Engine Generator. Employment of daylight and photoelectric cell control in combination with dimming and occupancy sensing systems to accomplish energy conservation & savings.


ME Engineers / Hayakawa Associates                    


Project Manager of Kaiser Medical Office Building, Harbour City, Ca. (3 Floors) Lead Engineer on the LAC+USC Medical Center Replacement in LA. County. Project Size: 1.5 million sq. ft., Approximate project cost : $1billion. Design of the IPT building central plant consisting of (7) 1,500 KW engine generators with (2) 2,500 amp., 4160v., 3ph., 3w. Incoming services off of a 34.5 KV. Ring buss primary system. Project manager and engineer on Community Medical Center Trauma & Critical Care Building in Fresno, Ca. ( 5) Floors.

Senior Electrical Engineer on various school projects ; Harville Elementary, (Alvord School District) Foothill Technology High School (Ventura School District) Cabrillo & Dominguez High School Modernization ( Long Beach Unified School District ) and (15) building modernization project for Sierra Vista High School in the ( Riverside Unified School District) . Fire Alarm, Title 24 and Safety & Technology device distribution.

Senior Electrical Engineer on various hospital projects including due diligence for (40) hospitals as part of the SB 1953 Study. Project Manager for a UPS administration Office in Long Beach California worked with IEEE lighting applications & FAA requirements.


Rosenberg & Associates                            

1996- 1997

Project Manager for the Legoland Theme Park in Carlsbad, Ca.. Responsible for a complete engineering package for attractions & Restaurants throughout the park with all related  low voltage controls. Park was distributed from a main central plant through (10) substations. Each substation fed an individual attractions. Approximated cost of project was $175,000,000.

Site Electrical Engineer for the United Airlines International Terminal Expansion at LAX. Performed Construction Administration and reviewed submittal data as well as answering RFI’s and Distributing Instructional Bulletins at the field.

Senior Electrical Engineer for various commercial, institutional and industrial projects. One of our main clients was Lockheed Air Craft in Palmdale, CA.
